A New Chapter for the Colorado State Archery Association
A Message to Our Members and Fellow Archers
As we look forward to the 2027 archery season, it is important to acknowledge the challenges of the past year while looking toward a brighter future for the Colorado State Archery Association.
Last season brought frustration and disappointment to many of our members, including myself and my club. In particular, the State Field Tournament raised serious concerns about leadership and the established tournament rules. These concerns deserve to be acknowledged, not dismissed or forgotten.
I have accepted the position of Director of Publicity to help get the CSAA organized and back to its roots. Today, I was able to gain access to the association's website and email account. I want to address every member's concerns, no matter how small. If you have a concern, please feel free to email me anytime. If I cannot answer your question or resolve an issue, I will gladly bring it to the attention of my fellow officers.
The CSAA was founded on fairness, sportsmanship, integrity, and a shared passion for archery. Our tournaments should reflect those values, with rules applied consistently and every competitor treated with respect. The future of this organization depends on our willingness to address problems and make meaningful improvements.
I personally believe it is time to return to those founding principles. Tournament leadership must be accountable, established rules must be respected, and decisions must serve the best interests of our archers and the association. No individual should place personal preferences above the rules or the responsibilities entrusted to them.
I encourage every member, competitor, and supporter to be part of a renewed CSAA. We may not always agree, but we can stand united in our commitment to fairness, respect, and integrity. Together, we can restore the traditions and rebuild the confidence that have made Colorado archery something worth being proud of.
The CSAA belongs to its members, and its future should always reflect their best interests. I look forward to seeing some of you that I haven’t seen in a decade and I also look forward to meeting some potentially new friends.
